The purpose of heat setting is mainly to make the polyester knitted fabric heated under tension, and the fabric is baked at a predetermined temperature, so that the thermal movement of the sub-valent bonds and the molecular chain segments between the fiber molecules is intensified, so that the molecules can be recombined and arranged. Internal stress is relatively stable.
Therefore, the dimensional stability of the fabric can be improved, and the wrinkle resistance can be enhanced. At the same time, the surface finish, strength, and pilling resistance of the fabric can be improved.
The key point of the polyester knitted fabric in the heat setting process is to control the setting temperature and setting time
If the heat-setting temperature is too low and the time is too short, the surface of the fabric may be uneven, not stiff, and the width of the web may be reduced.
If the setting temperature is too high or the time is too long, the fabric will be hard and brittle, the strength will be reduced, the elasticity will be reduced, and some disperse dyes will sublimate to produce color difference. In severe cases, the fibers may even melt.
Proven in practice
The suitable setting temperature of the polyester knitted fabric is 180-210°C, the setting time is 20-90s, and the cooling temperature is about 50°C.

All kinds of polyester knitted fabrics are on the Z921 needle board stenter. When the setting temperature is 185-190°C, the linear speed is: polyester warp knitted net cloth 10-15m/min, polyester warp knitted shirt cloth 12-18m/ Min, polyester warp, weft, knitted outer cloth 12-20m/min, polyester yarn dyed jacquard cloth 7-lOm/min.
It must not be overlooked in the setting that the "tension" and "overfeeding" of the fabric should be matched with each other.
If the width of the tenter exceeds the width of the fabric, the shrinkage rate will increase, and the strength will drop.
If the overfeeding is too large or the tension is not the same size, it is easy to cause the zonal wavy shape (commonly known as the "few ear"), and vice versa. In short, we must strictly control the process conditions such as width, tension and overfeeding during the operation.
