The difference between POY and FDY

POY: pre-oriented silk, full name: PRE-ORIENTED YARN or PARTIALLY ORIENTED YARN. It refers to an incompletely drawn chemical fiber filament having a degree of orientation obtained by high-speed spinning between an unoriented filament and a drawn filament. Compared with unstretched wire, it has a certain degree of orientation, good stability, and is often used as a special wire for draw-twist textured yarn (DTY).

DTY: stretch textured yarn, full name: DRAW TEXTURED YARN. It is made by using POY as raw yarn, and it is made by stretching and false twisting. There is often some flexibility and contraction. FDY: Full stretch body. Full name: FULL DRAW YARN. Synthetic filaments further produced by spin-drawing. The fiber is fully stretched and can be used directly in textile processing.
